The arrival of 2026 will be celebrated to the sound of the Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa (JOP), which will start the new year with two special concerts by the Soloists’ Gala, a programme that brings together some of the most beautiful works from the Baroque and Classical repertoire. The performances will take place at the Seixal Cultural Forum Municipal Auditorium on 4 January 2026 at 4 pm and at the São João Cinema-Theatre in Palmela on the same day at 8 pm.

The Soloists’ Gala highlights the excellence and incandescent energy of the JOP, the national youth orchestra that acts as an ambassador for Portuguese talent in Europe and around the world. It is made up of musicians between the ages of 14 and 28, selected annually through auditions throughout the country (North, Centre, South, Azores and Madeira). The JOP is a project that promotes the specialisation, training and professional integration of young instrumentalists, regardless of their academic background or financial status.

With an extraordinary programme and the vitality characteristic of the younger generations, the Portuguese Youth Orchestra invites the audiences of Seixal and Palmela to celebrate the arrival of 2026 with an unforgettable musical experience.
