The Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa – Associação Musical, with its Notas de Contacto initiative, was awarded an Honourable Mention at the Prémio Acesso Cultura 2016. In July 2019, the group took part in the Young Euro Classic festival at Berlin’s legendary Konzerthaus, where it premiered the composition “Alcance” by João Godinho – a work for 5 soloists from Notas de Contacto, 3 musicians from the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra and the Young Portuguese Orchestra. The composer, invited by Maestro Pedro Carneiro to write this work, was awarded the European Composer Award – a prize given in recognition of the best world premiere by the Young Euro Classic (YEC) festival organisers.

Also noteworthy is the success of composer Mariana Vieira, who also won the European Composer Award in 2017 for the premiere of her work “Raíz” with the Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa, conducted by Pedro Carneiro at the Berlin Konzerthaus – a performance recorded by DeutschlandRadio Kultur and subsequently broadcast by the European Union’s international radio network (EBU).

In June 2024, OCP-AM was again honoured, this time for its Orquestra dos Navegadores initiative, with another Honourable Mention at the Prémio Acesso Cultura 2024.
