The Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa (OCP) will be performing at the ‘Óbidos Opera Festival’ with Christoph Willibald Gluck’s “Orpheus and Eurydice” on 19 and 20 September at the Convent of São Miguel das Gaeiras in Óbidos.

With musical direction by Pedro Carneiro and featuring the Voces Caelestes Choir, conducted by Sérgio Fontão, the production stars Luísa Francesconi as Orpheus, Ana Quintans as Eurydice, and Joana Santos as Amore.

This performance of Gluck’s work invites the audience to revisit one of the great myths of opera history, in a production that combines the power of music and singing to bring to life the tragic love story between Orpheus and Eurydice.
