The Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa (OCP) has a prominent place in the new 2025/2026 season of the Companhia Nacional de Bailado (CNB), featuring two ballets that combine dance, literature and live music.

October 2025 – Os Maias

The CNB season begins on 16 October 2025 at the Teatro Camões with the world premiere of Os Maias, a ballet in three acts, adapted from the emblematic work by Eça de Queirós.

Created by Fernando Duarte, choreographer and artistic director of the CNB, the choreography incorporates literature, movement and live music, performed by pianist António Rosado and soloists from the OCP, reinforcing the connection between dance and Portuguese literary narrative.

Ten performances are scheduled between 16 and 26 October 2025 at the Camões Theatre in Lisbon.

Wednesday (8 p.m.) – 15 October

Sessions for the general public:
Weekdays (8pm) – 16, 17, 23 and 24 October
Saturdays (6.30pm) – 18 and 25 October
Sundays (4pm) – 19 and 26 October

Session for schools:
Wednesday (3pm) – 22 October

Duration 1h45 (approx.) with an interval
